Do Not Disturb Café

Enter the do not disturb café, a beautifully designed space, to enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat

The design of the Do Not Disturb Café plays into hotel archetypes originally introduced to ensure guests of their privacy.

Only here, they have the opposite effect. An enlarged peephole and semi-transparent curtains encourage people to peek inside. Door hangers act as welcoming menus. And while a hotel room door is presumed to seal you off from the outside world, this one does no such thing.

We’re are delighted that WeWantMore is joining us to design The Café.

“The 'do not disturb' sign is a classic in hotel businesses. And unmistakably clear for that matter: leave me be. Being exactly the opposite of what The Café should be about ... We played into that notion by designing a place where the door is always open and peeking in is encouraged. A place to enter without knocking, invade each other’s privacy, start a conversation, network and have a bite to eat while doing so.” – Ruud Belmans, Creative Director Spatial Design
