John Martin
John Gabriel Martin is a hospitality entrepreneur and operator with a career shaped entirely by hotels. An alumnus of the École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), he has built his expertise across concept development, design-led renovation, and the operational realities of independent hospitality. As founder of Champels Creative Hospitality, a Brussels-based boutique studio, he leads end-to-end hotel transformation projects, from interior design and concept to procurement and site delivery, alongside his wife and co-principal, interior architect Julie Van Bellinghen. Their work spans landmark Belgian properties including Pairi Daiza, Martin's Guesthouse, and the Mercure Grottes de Han.
As a board member of Martin's Hotels Group, he brings a long-standing connection to Belgian independent hospitality ownership and its strategic challenges.
Through Cervo Hospitality Intelligence, he is building a technology ecosystem purpose-designed to address the operational and commercial pressures facing independent hoteliers today. His work sits at the intersection of design, operations, and innovation, making him a distinctive voice on what it truly takes to transform a hospitality asset in a competitive, resource-constrained environment.
