As the first cleaning company in the Netherlands, Beercoo made the transition to bio-based trash bags and simultaneously banning the plastic ones. The bags are produced based on 85% sugar cane. During the lifetime of the sugar cane plant, it absorbs CO2 from the air as a power source for the plant. As a result, the plant based bags cause CO2 intake instead of emission. As Hella added: “If we really want to differentiate ourselves, not just in employee policy, these choices are crucial.”
