Remodelled Hotel & Welness Zuiver
)
On the edge of Amsterdam’s largest park, the remodelled Hotel & Wellness Zuiver has extended the green atmosphere to its building with a 560 m² SemperGreenwall. The design of the recently renovated and expanded hotel was inspired by the experience of the four seasons in the surrounding forest ‘Amsterdamse Bos’. While the rooms are designed according to beautiful spring, summer, autumn and winter-themes, the living walls will also represent every season with a different look. Of the over 50.000 plants living in the façade, many are winter-hardy or summer bloomers, ensuring a green but varying appearance year-round.
The Amsterdamse Bos is home to Hotel & Wellness Zuiver, the largest wellness centre in our capital city. A place where guests find rest and relaxation and where a stay is all about optimal enjoyment in green surroundings. With its predominantly green facades, the expansion of the hotel section of Zuiver contributes to the year-round green experience of guests at this resort.
Rolf van den Heuvel, marketing manager at Zuiver: 'The new hotel section -an expansion of 39 rooms in total- stands on the spot where manager's houses used to be. All rooms overlook the Amsterdamse Bos and the water of the Nieuwe Meer lake. Thanks to the green facades of the two buildings, our resort establishes an even clearer connection with these green surroundings.
When I saw the first plans, I wondered whether such a green facade would remain attractive for 12 months a year. 'We are now over a year and a half on and I can say that it still looks perfect. We are extremely happy with the result. As are our guests. Every day I see hotel guests taking a quick picture of this hotel location before they leave.'
