Morpho
Every fibre of Morpho is traceable from farm to fibre, embodying the transparency and integrity much needed in today’s textile petro chemical dependant landscape. Developed in collaboration with iinouiio: experts in Recycled Textiles, Morpho was first unveiled at Milan Design Week 2024 and selected for the Materials Innovation table at the Future Fabrics Expo in NYC . We work with master weaver Alice Timmis, when weaving first handlooms the initial swatches in her studio in East London.
The resulting fabric is as unique as its journey. Without the use of dyes, Morpho yarn takes on the colour of the waste feed post consumer cashmere, imbuing the fabric with a distinct and recognisable character. Our initial colour trials yielded beautiful shades, from charcoal, candy floss pink and delicious pistachio.
Morpho is beautiful and built to last. Morpho’s soft hand feel belies its strength. This durable yarn and fabric are ideal for a range of applications—from upholstery and curtains to outerwear and carpets, as demonstrated by the stunning hemp coat designed by Dark Waters. Rigorous industrial tests prove it’s natural fire retardancy, tensile strength, durability and resistance to pilling.
